You can now capture video in full HD and it has full time auto focus along with manual exposure. You get very smooth and even moving images and the Nikon D7000 compensates for degrading issues. You have auto and manual exposure modes so you can now pan the camera from a dark place to a very bright place with no issues. There is a built in microphone you but can also use an external microphone for really high quality recording.
Lenses
The Nikon D7000 is an awesome camera and it feels really solid in your hands. It is way more substantial than either the D40 or the D90 but it doesn’t feel like a solid brick like the D300 or the D700. As for lenses, I feel that this Nikon Telephoto Zoom Lens is SO much more useful. Also, you should check out the Nikkor Zoom Lens at 55-200mm and the awesome Nikon 55-200mm with vibration reduction because these are really awesome and a must have.
Conclusion
Really, it all depends on what is most important to you and what you need the camera for. Smaller size and weight is really important to me so the Nikon D7000 is so perfect. It is a God send when it comes to my sports photography and this camera alone has boosted my profits! I can’t say enough of this awesome camera.
